Kirana-Konnect is an e-commerce platform with a vision to empower the community of FMCG business owners towards the selling/supply/stocking/exchange of their goods and services.
It is a B2B (Business to Business) e-commerce platform which connects businesses in between themselves so that they can Buy/Sell/Stock/Exchange/transport their products and can avail the required services within their local loop of location. With an aim to support the slogan “Vocal for Local” Kirana Konnect has done collaboration with local manufacturers of Masala/Agarbatti/Detergent powders/plastic utensils and have provided a platform for them to grow their business. It also helps different FMCG Brands to pull the sales and distribution categorically from the big retailers who can leverage the performance of their businesses.

Wholesale market problem and solutions
Current trend of e-commerce FMCG B2B/B2C platforms have created problems for the traditional market dominators i.e mid segment of high potential retailers. These are called wholesalers and semi-wholesalers. These are our target customers. Below are the some problems which these big retailers faces in their day to day business activities.
- Problem of stock availability under one roof: These retailers have high appetite and they are starving due to the limited supply of Goods as most of the distributors have now chosen big e-commerce companies as their easy target achievers and use to sell them the targeted stock. This is happening almost with every FMCG brand.
- Problem of Transportation: Generally these wholesalers have tie up with the transporters but they has to rely on the transporters in terms of vehicle availability. This increases their time of liquidation and rotation of the stock. which in turn results in their investments getting stuck.
- Problem of Stock storage management: These retailers have full packed space with them with no option for storage on further purchases. They have option of either sell the high quantity available stock in less margins whenever they gets a good deal. Hence, their is a shortage of space.
- Problem of cost optimization: Their high turnover and rotation does not provide much time to them for evaluating/planning the further procurement and sales which vanishes the probability of high margin earning.
- Problem of Dead/Near Expiry Inventory: Most of their inventory gets dead or near expiry which gets impacted due to mrp change or packing change done by the companies very frequently specially post COVID when all the companies are optimizing their production lines and product configuration. Another problem is that they dont have any exchange module other than based on market relationships where they can exchange the goods with their counterparts.
- Problem of penetration of local made items such as detergent powders/Scent sticks/plastic products etc.
We identified above mentioned problems and we decided to spent time with them to identify the real issues and how a system can be made so that they can get the required results and desirable output. Moreover they will be empowered to compete the ongoing disruption in market and in turn they can create disruption for current bigger players by providing better service and rates for their customers i. e Small retailers, Distributors and end customers:
- By providing stock of various FMCG brands under one roof: We purchase almost all running brands and items in bulk with good deal and pricing so that we can offer better rates in market for our customers.
- By providing beat wise vehicle route details with cost involved: We have made routes for our vehicles and each of our customers are informed about the same. They plan their purchase in sync with our routes so that they can get a sure shot option for tranportation.
- By providing godown space for them to keep their stock safe: Many times it happens that these customers gets good deal and they have money to crack the same but due to the space availability issue they dont get them closed. We provide godown space on rental basis for these retailers and in turn also help them to sell their products quickly.
- By providing e-commerce platform to Buy/Sell their products: Although most of our customers are in offline sales. By providing an application to them we will be enabling them to sell their products also so that they can plan further procurement and sales in a better way.
- By introducing bartering/exchange system and option of auction in the application so that they can get best of their dead/near expiry stock
